With the borders beginning to come down, 2021 is looking like a great year to join TRACKS 4×4 TAGALONG on one of our exciting tours.
Kicking off the year in February, we’ll be heading off on our brand new BACKROADS tour where we start just north of Sydney and travel all the way up to Bald Rock National park, north of Tenterfield, predominately on dusty dirt tracks and trails. There’s only a small amount of bitumen and the lookouts and rivers all the way are absolutely stunning.
In March we’re off to the MADIGAN LINE. Starting in the tiny town of Tibooburra, it’s then up through the Corner country and into Birdsville. Great news for 2021…the bakery is opening again! From Birdsville we head up through Adria Downs to the beginning of the Madigan line and after an incredible few days crossing the dunes we head off to Dalhousie hot springs and Mt Dare on our way to Chambers Pillar. From here it’s an easy run up the old Ghan line into Alice Springs.
When we enter Alice you have the choice of either ending your time with us or continuing on to join us for the CENTRAL AUSTRALIA tour at the end of March. This is a beauty of a tour, visiting the big ticket destinations like Uluru and Kings Canyon and some of the lesser visited spots like Palm Valley and the Finke gorge….a breathtaking trip!
Late April we’re in the Simpson Desert again, this time on our SIMPSON DESERT/HAY RIVER TRACK LOOP. Its hard to pick a favourite tour of mine, but if I had to choose one, this would be it! As the name suggests, we do a loop of the Simpson, starting and finishing in Birdsville. You’ll get to have a go at Big Red before heading down the K1 and across 
the desert East to West. We’ll drop into Mt dare and the hot springs at Dalhousie, Lambert’s Geographical centre of Australia, Chambers Pillar and then its up to Alice and the less touristy, stunning East MacDonnell ranges. From here we work our way onto the Hay River track for our run back into Birdsville…what a trip!
In May we’ll be running the MADIGAN LINE and CENTRAL AUSTRALIA tours again and then for something a little different this year, we’re heading down the the Darling for a DARLING RIVER RUN in June, visiting the amazing Mungo National Park and camping at the impressive Mendindee Lakes. Beautiful days, crisp nights and warm campfires by the river. Cant wait!!
End of July, we’re off to CAPE YORK. Travelling outside of school holidays, the track will be less busy and full of adventure. Rainforest, river crossings and remote beaches…what more could you want?!
Mid August it’s across the top for the GULF COUNTRY tour. Heading off from Cairns then all the way to Mataranka Hot Springs. We’ll visit ancient lave tubes, the Lost City, an amazing gorge, waterfalls and a working cattle station to name just a few of the highlights.
We’ll head off on another DARLING RIVER RUN in October and finish the year where we started with our BACKROADS tour in November to soak up the beauty and adventure of the less travelled tracks between Sydney and the QLD border.
