Cape York Accommodated Tour

September 11 - September 27

Join us on our popular Cape York Accommodated Tour in 2022….16 nights and 17 adventure filled days travelling to the tip of Cape York, staying in accomodation all the way, with no need to pack all the camping gear. Starting and finishing in Cairns, it doesn’t get much better than this….a destination on most peoples bucket list!

Our tour starts and finishes in Cairns with our first morning winding up the beautiful Kuranda range, stopping at the lookout to take in the stunning tropical views before a break at the Mareeba heritage museum, a great opportunity to stretch your legs and grab a cuppa. From here we are heading for our first nights stopover at historic Chillagoe, where we’ll enjoy an evening meal with your fellow travellers.

After our wonderful first night, we head north, in a slightly more unusual way across the Palmer River into Musgrave Roadhouse where again our accommodation is awaiting us. Now we are on the Cape proper and heading further north we’ll swim in the beautiful Archer River, stop in at Coen for those last vital supplies, then enjoy a fun filled evening at Bramwell station with live music and a big buffet feed.

You will visit and enjoy a swim at Twin falls and Fruit Bat falls before it’s time to board the ferry for our short crossing of the Jardine River and up to Punsand Bay where we will spend 4 beautiful nights in beach front cabins and have time to explore the very Northern tip of Australia and surrounds. You will have a couple of free days, so why not head to Thursday Island, maybe a fishing charter? The choice is yours. We have just added a gem of a spot 2 nights on an island in Torres straight all meals and transfers included, book a fishing charter from the island, perhaps a helicopter to Thursday island?

Sadly our time at the tip is done and we start to head south. On the way we will visit Captain Billy landing and see the relics of the old landing wharf, and take in the stunning views over lunch before ending up at Bramwell station for another great night.

Our next destination is a 2 night stop at Lockhardt River, an American bomber base in WW2, and a stones throw away from the beautiful Chilli Beach. Here the time is yours to visit the indigenous art gallery, try your luck at casting a line, have lunch at the Blue Cafe or explore the beaches.

After our two day break we travel down to Musgrave for the night after checking out some old gold mining equipment at the Batavia goldfields site, and another opportunity to cool off in the Archer River.

To finish off this great tour, we drive through Lakefield National Park and into Cooktown where we will be having our final 2 nights together at the gorgeous Sovereign Inn. Enjoy the pool, take in the historic Cooktown sites, head up Grassy Hill to drink in the spectacular view across the estuary or check out the Captain Cook Museum. Such a beautiful little town, with so much to do and see, the time will just disappear!

Then just like that, it is our final day. A stop at the famous Lions Den hotel for a coffee before heading down the iconic coastal road, stopping along the way to take in the stunning tropical rainforest before boarding the Daintree ferry for a quick crossing of this beautiful river. No swimming here though!

Our tour concludes once we are back into Cairns and what a trip! And you didn’t even need a tent! Everywhere we stay there will be food available so you don’t even need to bring much of this with you, just lunches and some cereal for brekky and snacks for along the way.

This tour will tick all the boxes. Call Adam today for more details.
