Darling River Run Tour

16 October 2023 - 23 October 2023

$1995

Take a once-in-a-lifetime trip along the iconic Darling River. Learn the rich Indigenous and European history of this beautiful region. The Darling River is a spectacular part of Australia and the nation’s third longest river system. Our tour runs for 1,650 km in total, so you get to see all the amazing sights along the way.

The Darling River Run begins in Dubbo where we head off to a camp beside the Barwon River, with our meal presented by the head of the local Aboriginal land council*. The next morning, we visit the local Aboriginal museum and the ancient fish traps, and take a trip with Aboriginal elders around the local area*. That night, we travel to one of the nearby National Parks to camp beside the Darling.

Over the next few days, we travel through beautiful national parks, explore a working sheep station, and visit an iconic Outback pub. We follow the Darling through magnificent countryside and camp by Lake Pamamaroo. We enjoy a drive through Kinchega National Park taking in the history, and take a tour in the spectacular Mungo National Park. On our last day, we travel to Wentworth where the Darling joins the Murray.

The Tracks 4×4 Tagalong Darling River Run is not a simple point A to point B drive, but a journey along the ‘spine’ of Outback NSW. From the river to the towns, you will get to experience the best of Outback NSW on side trips across the surrounding region. With great company and an expert guide, you will experience flora, fauna, landscapes, Outback characters, and truly remarkable sunrise and sunset vistas.
