HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This one is a beauty. Come with us on a 15-day adventure to the magnificent Cape York region — Queensland’s last wild frontier and a trip like no other. Cape York is Australia’s most northern tip, stretching 1,000 km north of Cairns on a peninsula that’s almost the size of the UK. We head north from Port Douglas, staying at the iconic Lions Den Hotel before heading to captivating Cooktown. We will camp by the ocean among beautiful tropical trees, then up through Lakefield National Park, and explore a working station and camp under the stars. . During our journey up the Cape, we visit Twin Falls and Fruit Bat Falls. At the tip why not take the ferry and investigate beautiful Thursday Island. On our return down the cape we head to the iconic Bramwell Station where we camp for another great night under the stars. For the next couple of days, we continue south, visiting the old gold mining town of Maytown and back to Port Douglas. Tracks 4×4 Tagalong are lucky enough to have access to the only freehold land North of the Jardine River, with a great 4wd track in and a 2km beach to explore (at the owners discretion). This spectacular part of the world is a bucket list destination for all serious 4WD drive enthusiasts.
